THE VICTORY GARDEN
Scattered seeds of thought for a new world

Once upon a time there was a war.

A nation that had only just recovered from some very hard times had to use every resource in an epic battle against foes obsessed with power. Its citizens were asked to make many sacrifices, to do without many things to support this effort. They found many ways to cope with with the lack of material things. Some reacted selfishly and hoarded whatever they could get their hands on. Others were less ruled by fear. They worked a little harder, made do with what they had, and in order to be more self-sufficient they planted larger gardens.

They called them "Victory Gardens".

This is a different time, a different war. But perhaps not so different. All things have their roots in the past, their branches in the future. What we are and what we do now was shaped and colored by all that went before. Whatever seed we sow now will bear its fruit, and our children and grandchildren will harvest it.

Th e Victory Garden is not merely a relic, a dim memory of the fading past. It needs to be replanted by every generation. If the seeds of peace, love, and life are not sown and tended, the weeds of fear, hate, and death will flourish in their place.

Man is the animal who believes that he is so important that God will listen to him. He also believes that his own actions are so insignificant that he, as an individual, has no effect on the world...

What are these seeds that we need to plant, and what can we do to help them grow?

First, wake up!

We are all sleepwalkers. We are taught to be unaware of ourselves because awareness causes trouble.
THOUGHTS ON REINCARNATION

How can "remembering" a life in the past affirm reincarnation? If I can hear, see, and/or feel what someone else in this timeline is experiencing, why should I not be able to reach through time as well as space (and consider that you probably accept the validity of precognition...) to contact another mind? That I am able to do so does not mean that in essence I am, or was, that person in either case.

Or, look at it this way. We are all ONE. You, I, him, her, now or then - all not-separate nodes of one big whatever. Slightly different-seeming apparently individual swirls in the same cosmic fractal. Little snippets of a hologram too big for any one of us snippets to see. See? Reincarnation is only an explanation. We might all see a lot clearer if we take off the goggles of a pet theory once in a while.

In the words of the prophet Arual:
All prophets are one.
All prophets are equally superceded at the first moment of creation.
All prophets speak the same truths, because all truth is One.
You are all ONE but you are only parts of the ONE.
Therefor, no ONE can speak or know the whole truth.
The Brass Ring
Four children are riding the carousel. One gets the brass ring. One thinks of nothing but getting the brass ring, and is bitterly disappointed. One enjoys the ride so much that the brass ring is forgotten. Another has no desire for the brass ring, but, lost in profound thought and inspired by the circular motion, has a transcendant spiritual experience.
Which one had the best ride?
